Australian Refugee Review Tribunal uses a wiki in ruling

The Australian Refugee Review Tribunal used a wiki last year in determining the outcome of a protection visa. The Tribunal rejected the protection visa.

However, the Federal Magistrates Court has overturned this decision because they used “unreliable information”, and deservedly so. Using any website to find out information in this type of case is ridiculous, even more so with a website where “anyone can edit”.

But even worse is the Australian IT calling the website the Tribunal used, Armeniapedia, a Wikipedia website; “…relying on the website Wikipedia…”. It is a wiki, but in no way related to Wikipedia except that it uses the same software, MediaWiki.

Other news websites repeated the same mistake.
